O. O. McIntyre // New York is offering a wide range of plays this season. There is something to please a wide range of tastes, from the tragic moments of the Moscow Art theater to the buffoonery of “The Follies.” “The Follies,” by the way, is completing its longest run on Broadway and will finish up a year soon. Ziggy, over the top of his lavender collar, says he will never send his production on the road again. Judging from box office records, the most popular plays in town are “The Old Soak,” “Rain,” “The Fool,” and the Moscow players. Maud Fulton, who used to dance so delightfully in vaudeville with William Rock, is starring in her own play. Frank Tinney, the comedian, has closed in his show. He and his manager, Arthur Hammerstein, have been battling in the newspapers and the quarrel has been taken before the Producing Managers Association. Tinney, so Hammerstein avers, has been devoting himself too much to the path of pleasure. Why shouldn’t a comedian be happy?
